Kiketi Farm

A farm with the Native restaurant outside Tbilisi

In Kiketi, at 1,100 metres and only twenty-five kilometres from Tbilisi, amid mountain air and wide open views, a farm has grown on the site of a former Soviet holding.

Its ten hectares now hold a wine cellar, a stable, a rose garden, a greenhouse and small houses hidden among the trees. Everything here is arranged around life on the land: unhurried, seasonal and real.

The heart of the farm is the Native restaurant, where Georgian and European cooking is built around what grows here and on the neighbouring farms. The menu turns with the seasons, following the harvest and the natural rhythm of the place. There are sixty seats indoors and as many again on the open terrace.

A cafe has taken over the old Soviet greenhouse and given it a second life, while a separate bar up on the rise is the right place for an evening glass of wine and a long look at the sunset.

The farm's own cellar makes natural wine, in qvevri and in oak barrels. Five of them can be tasted here, and the wine can be met exactly where it is born.

But the farm was not made for food and wine alone. People come for the whole day: to ride, to warm up in the bathhouse, to practise yoga or simply to walk the grounds. This is a place where there is no need to hurry. It is enough to stay a few hours and let yourself live at the pace of the farm.
