Tsolikouri

West Georgia's main white

Tsolikouri

Tsolikouri is the most widely planted white grape of western Georgia. Late, productive and hardy, it gives fresh wines with good acidity and notes of pear, citrus and meadow flowers.

Tsolikouri makes dry wines in the European and Imeretian styles, and in Lechkhumi the famous white semi-sweet Tvishi. In qvevri the grape gives light amber wines.

Reliable and flexible, Tsolikouri is the workhorse of western winemaking, yet in the best hands it shows real finesse.
