Solomnishvili Winery

Natural-wine maker, Giorgi Solomnishvili

Solomnishvili Winery is a small family winery run by Giorgi Solomnishvili in Telavi (Kakheti). The vineyard is tiny, about 0.2 hectares, and Giorgi tends the vines by hand.

The main variety is Saperavi. The wine is fermented in qvevri and then aged in oak; the batches are very small and almost bespoke.

For Solomnishvili wine is a whole philosophy; the estate is one example of Kakhetian small natural winemaking.
