Racha-Lechkhumi winery

The story of Naberauli Wines begins in 2018, and its goal is to establish Racha-Lechkhumi on the world wine map as a region of rare and unique wines.

The company's winery and laboratory, equipped with the latest technology, stand in the Racha village of Sadmeli, on land where monks once made wine from vines hidden in the mountains during the war, and where the remains of historic maranis survive to this day.

It is as if the ancestors knew from the start that wine would be the calling card with which Georgia would present itself to the world. The wine was named Naberauli in honour of that history, and the labels speak of the traditions of this corner of the country.

The estate works with the endemic varieties of Racha-Lechkhumi: Aleksandrouli, Mujuretuli, Saperavi, Dzelshavi, Tsolikouri, Usakhelouri and Rachuli Mtsvane.

The philosophy of the winery conveys the authentic character of the region through its terroir, from the mountain landscape and varied soils to the temperate climate. The wines are made both by classic methods and by the traditional Georgian low-intervention method in qvevri. The vineyards are unirrigated, intervention is kept to a minimum and the impact on nature as small as possible.
