The Black Lion, where new Georgian cooking began

Shavi Lomi, the Black Lion, was opened in 2011 by Meriko Gubeladze, and it is from this place that the new Tbilisi cooking is usually dated: the same Georgian dishes, rethought, with other combinations and presentation.

The restaurant occupies an old house in Chughureti with a courtyard and rooms furnished with old crockery, carpets and household things. Chakapuli and pkhali are the regulars, though the menu follows the season.
