Goruli Mtsvane

Kartli white, base of sparkling

Goruli Mtsvane

Goruli Mtsvane («green from Gori») is a white grape of central Georgia, not to be confused with the Kakhetian Mtsvane. It is marked by high acidity and a fresh, slightly spicy aroma.

With Chinuri it is the classic Kartli blend for traditional-method sparkling wine: the cool climate and acidity give an excellent base. In still wines it makes a light, fresh dry white.

Goruli Mtsvane is a key grape for the revival of Kartli winemaking, long overshadowed by Kakheti.
