Budeshuri Tsiteli

Table-and-wine red

Budeshuri Tsiteli

Budeshuri Tsiteli is an old red grape with large berries, long used both as a table grape and for wine. It is grown in Kartli and Kakheti.

As a wine grape it gives light, fresh reds and rosés of low tannin with berry aromatics; it suits easy young wines, including qvevri styles.

Budeshuri shows how the line between table and wine grapes in Georgia was historically fluid, with home wine made from a great variety of vines.
