Red grape of Guria & Imereti

Aladasturi is a red grape of the humid west, traditionally trained high up trees (maghlari). It gives light, fresh red wines with low tannin and lively acidity.
Its aromatics are red berries, cherry and pomegranate, sometimes with a light herbal edge. It suits light qvevri reds and rosés drunk young.
Like other «tree» grapes of Guria, Aladasturi is tied to the vanishing maghlari tradition and its revival.
