Princess Barbare Jorjadze was a writer and one of Georgia's first feminists: her 1893 open letter on women's rights was ahead of its time.

Her Georgian Cuisine and Tested Household Notes (1874) is the first Georgian cookbook; Tbilisi restaurants still cook from it. The recipes in our Cuisine section continue that tradition.
