Mkhlovani

Greens-filled flatbread

Mkhlovani is a traditional Georgian flatbread filled with greens (from «mkhali», meaning greens or herbs). A mix of wild and garden herbs, sometimes with cheese or curd, is folded into the dough.

It is especially associated with the mountain regions of eastern Georgia, Pshavi and Khevsureti, where wild greens are abundant in spring.
