Schuchmann Wines was founded in 2008 by the German entrepreneur Burkhard Schuchmann in the village of Kisiskhevi near Telavi. It is a notable example of foreign investment in Georgian winemaking.

The estate combines modern European technology with the Georgian qvevri tradition, producing both European-style and amber qvevri wines.
