Atenuri is a traditional naturally sparkling (or semi-sparkling) white from Chinuri and Goruli Mtsvane, from the Ateni gorge south of Gori in Kartli. A protected designation of origin.

The cool climate and the high acidity of the local grapes suit sparkling wine perfectly; the Ateni gorge has historically been known for this style.

Atenuri is a rare Georgian example of an appellation devoted specifically to sparkling wine.
