Racha red — partner of Aleksandrouli

Mujuretuli is a red grape of mountainous Racha, almost always paired with Aleksandrouli: together they form the Khvanchkara blend. The name is linked to the village of Mujureti.
On its own Mujuretuli gives softer, sweeter, aromatic wines; it lends the austere Aleksandrouli roundness and berry sweetness. Like all Racha grapes, it is low-yielding.
Occasionally Mujuretuli is made as a single varietal — a red semi-sweet with notes of strawberry and cherry.
