Painter, master of the cityscape
1901–1975

Elene Akhvlediani studied in Italy and Paris and, on her return, became one of the leading Georgian painters of the 20th century. Above all she loved to paint old Tbilisi and the towns of Georgia: Telavi, Kutaisi, Mtskheta.
She also worked as a stage designer for the Tbilisi theatres. Her house-museum in Tbilisi is open to visitors.
