A café in a former printing house

Stamba is Georgian for a printing house, and it is not a metaphor: books and newspapers were printed in this building on Kostava Street from the 1950s, and now it holds a hotel with a café that kept the concrete piers, the height of the halls and some of the old machines.

The room is not only for guests: people come for coffee and breakfast, to work with a laptop under the palms, to see exhibitions. The place has become a landmark of Tbilisi's Vera district.
