«Freedom» — Georgia's anthem since 2004. Music by Zakaria Paliashvili (from his operas), words by David Magradze.
2004

«Tavisupleba» («Freedom») is the national anthem of Georgia, adopted in 2004 in place of the earlier anthem «Dideba».
The music was arranged by Ioseb Kechakmadze on themes from Zakaria Paliashvili's operas «Abesalom and Eteri» and «Daisi»; the words were written by the poet David Magradze. Thus the national classical music of the early 20th century came to serve as the state anthem.
The anthem is short and solemn; its key word — «tavisupleba», freedom — reflects the country's path to independence.
