Historical, founded 1876

Château Mukhrani was founded in 1876 by Prince Ivan Bagration-Mukhransky, of the royal branch of the Bagrationi. He built a palace and winery on the French model, with equipment from France, and made wines that won prizes at European exhibitions.
It was one of the first full-cycle «château» estates in the Russian Empire. After Sovietisation the estate was nationalised and fell into decay.
In the 21st century the palace and winery have been restored; Château Mukhrani again produces wine and works as a historic cultural centre in Kartli.
